The aspect ratio is the ratio of the width of an image to its height. The supported aspect ratios are the aspect ratios that can be shown by the device.

Supported aspect ratios

The different screen sizes which the device can work with.

Screen size compatibility

The maximum length at which an image can be projected.

Projection distance

The amount of light emitted, typically measured in ANSI lumens.

Projector brightness

The underlying method used to create the image on the screen, such as 3LCD or DLP.

Projection technology

The actual number of physical pixels that make up the image on the display panel, typically expressed as width by height (e.g. 1920x1080).

Projector native resolution

The difference in light intensity between the brightest white and the darkest black.

Contrast ratio (typical)

The aspect ratio is the ratio of the width of an image to its height. The native aspect ratio is the one which the projector/display is particularly designed for. Images shown in native aspect ratio will utilize the entire resolution of the display and achieve maximum brightness. Images shown in other than native aspect ratio will always have less resolution and less brightness than images shown in native aspect ratio.

Native aspect ratio

The total number of distinct colours that the device can produce and display, often ranging from millions to billions.

Number of colours

The light output of the device when operating in a power-saving mode, measured in ANSI lumens.

Projector brightness (economic mode)

Defines in percentage the harmonious spread of the projection

Uniformity

The range of horizontal frequencies the device can process and display, measured in kHz.

Horizontal scan range

The range of vertical frequencies the device can process and display, measured in hertz (Hz).

Vertical scan range

The maximum angle by which the image can be digitally adjusted vertically to compensate for misalignment between the lens and the screen, measured in °.

Keystone correction, vertical

Projector

The technology used to generate light, such as LED, Laser, or VCSEL.

Light source type

The expected operational duration of the light source before it requires replacement, measured in hours.

Service life of light source

The expected operational duration of the light source before replacement is required when the device is operated in energy-saving mode, measured in hours.

Service life of light source (economic mode)

The amount of electrical power consumed by the lamp, measured in watts.

Lamp power

Lamps quantity

Light source

Specifies the method used to achieve a sharp image, such as automatic (Auto), manual, or fixed focus.

Focus

Measure of how strongly the system converges or diverges light. For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance. For an optical system in air, the effective focal length (f and f′) gives the distance from the front and rear principal planes (H and H′) to the corresponding focal points (F and F′).

Focal length range

Aperture range of the device's optics, expressed in f-stops.

Aperture range (F-F)

The amount that the camera lens can zoom.

Zoom capability

The mechanism used to adjust the focal length, such as through automatic, manual, or fixed settings.

Zoom type

Measures how much the camera can adjust its focus for distance shots. A 3x zoom ratio changes the camera's focal length by a factor of three, from 35 mm to 105 mm for example.

Zoom ratio

The ratio between the distance from the lens to the projection surface and the width of the projected image.

Throw ratio

The distance between the image edge and the projection or capture point, expressed as a percentage or a numerical value.

Offset

Lens system

The supported protocols for exchanging analog signals.

Analog signal format system

Video

Number of USB 2.0 ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. USB 2.0 was released in April 2000 (now called "Hi-Speed"), adding higher maximum signaling rate of 480 Mbit/s (effective throughput up to 35 MB/s or 280 Mbit/s), USB 2.0 ports are usually black.

USB 2.0 ports quantity

The two sockets (ports) for receiving left audio signal (white cable) and right audio signal (red cable).

Audio (L/R) in

The two sockets (ports) for transmitting left audio signal (white cable) and right audio signal (red cable).

Audio (L/R) out

The physical connector standard used for the serial communication port (e.g. DB9 or RJ-45).

Serial interface type

Number of VGA (D-Sub) ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. The VGA (D-Sub) connector is a 15 pin connector between a computer and a monitor. It was first introduced in 1987 by IBM.

VGA (D-Sub) ports quantity

The number of sockets (ports) for HDMI connections. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed video data and compressed/uncompressed digital audio data from a HDMI-compliant device ("the source device") to a compatible computer monitor, video projector, digital television, or digital audio device. HDMI is a digital replacement for existing analog video standards.

HDMI ports quantity

The socket (port) for the composite video input (white cable).

Composite video in

Ports & interfaces

Popular technology that allows an electronic device to exchange data or connect to the internet wirelessly using radio waves.

Wi-Fi

Network

The amount of sound emitted during operation when the energy-saving or low-power setting is active, measured in decibels.

Noise level (economic mode)

The available orientations for positioning the device to project an image, such as Ceiling, Front, or Rear.

Projection modes

Features

The device contains speaker(s) to produce sound.

Built-in speaker(s)

RMS (Root mean square) is a measure of the continuous power required by a device, in particular audio amplifiers and loudspeakers.

RMS rated power

The total quantity of integrated audio output drivers installed within the unit.

Number of built-in speakers

Multimedia

Under which category can the device be positioned in the market, e.g. camera phone.

Market positioning

The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white.

Product colour

Design

What is providing power for the product e.g. mains electricity.

Amount of power consumed by this model, often expressed in watts (W). Typical values that manufacturers give are power consumption when off, standby/suspended mode, typical use, maximum usage.

Power consumption (typical)

The amount of electricity that is consumed when the product is on standby.

Power consumption (standby)

The voltage of the AC electricity that is inputted into the product.

AC input voltage
