LINDY International Ltd.

LINDY-Elektronik GmbH

The Lindy USB Type A Wired Headset with In-Line Control is a professional headset for connectivity with PCs, laptops, or other USB outputs. The binaural design provides clear stereo audio playback, replacing in-built PC or laptop speakers. The flexible omni-directional microphone captures the users voice clearly for superior video calling clarity. The in-line controls ensure simple volume and muting adjustment, great for flexible use within video conferencing. The headset's lightweight design ensures comfort even with all-day use within offices and call centres and they can be also used in conjunction with popular VoIP and Office software.

Product type

Wearing style

What the product should be used for, and how it should be used (e.g. ambient temperature).

Recommended usage

A headset is headphones combined with a microphone, or one headphone with a microphone. Headsets provide the equivalent functionality of a telephone handset but with hands-free operation. Types of headsets include single earpiece (monaural) and double earpiece.

Headset type

The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white.

Product colour

Specifies the design and placement of the interface used to manage device settings, such as an in-line control unit integrated into the cable.

Control unit type

Cable length

Indicates whether the strap securing the device to the head can be modified in size for a customized fit.

Adjustable headband

What the casing of the product is made of.

Housing material

Indicates whether this product supports is "plug and play". Plug and play is hardware or software that, after being installed ("plugged in"), can immediately be used ("played with"), as opposed to hardware or software which requires configuration.

Plug and Play

Specifies the official standards, safety approvals, or regulatory certifications the product has received.

Certification

Performance

The technology that enables connectivity of the device, e.g. wired or wireless.

Ports & interfaces

Ear coupling describes the way in which headphones or earphones stay attached to, or inside, the ear. There are three common types of ear coupling: circumaural, supra-aural and intra-aural. Circumaural headphones enclose your ears with large pads that suppress external noise. Supra-aural headphones are typically more lightweight and sit on top of the ears with small pads. Intra-aural headphones come in two basic designs and neither style sits on the head itself. The first are ear buds, which sit just outside of the ear canal, on top of your ear lobes. The second type is actually inserted directly into the ear canal and offers some external noise suppression.

Ear coupling

The range of frequencies (low to high sounds) that the headphones can produce.

Headphone frequency

The effective resistance of an electric circuit or component to alternating current, arising from the combined effects of ohmic resistance and reactance.

Impedance

The measure of how efficiently the unit converts an electrical signal into sound, typically expressed in decibels per millivolt (dB/mW).

Headphone sensitivity

The diameter of the internal diaphragm responsible for producing sound, measured in millimetres.

Total harmonic distortion is a measure of non-linear harmonic

distortion and is given in %. Non-linear harmonic distortions are

signals which were not present in the original before the signal was

converted by the headphones. These unwanted signals are caused by the

diaphragm, whose movements do not precisely move in time with the

electric signals that cause it to move. Unfortunately, this is a

feature of all electroacoustic transducers. Although it cannot be

completely eliminated, suitable steps can be taken to minimise it.

However, the user is not interested in why this distortion takes place

but in how great the level of distortion must be for it to become

perceptible. According to the findings of several research projects, a

total harmonic distortion of 1% in the frequency range of 100 to 2000

Hz is imperceptible. Below 100 Hz, the perceptibility threshold lies

at 10%.

Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)

Set of electronic components in an integrated circuit that manages the data flow between the processor, memory and peripherals. It is usually found in the motherboard of a computer. Chipsets are usually designed to work with a specific family of microprocessors. Because it controls communications between the processor and external devices, the chipset plays a crucial role in determining system performance.

Chipset

Headphones

The characteristics of the microphone bulit into the device in terms of the reception of signals from all or just one direction, i.e. omnidirectional (better for concerts and the like vs unidirectional, more suitable for voice recording.

Microphone type

The range of frequencies (low to high sounds) that the microphone can pick up (detect).

Microphone frequency

The minimum sound pressure level required to produce a specific electrical output signal, typically measured in decibels (dB).

Microphone sensitivity

Indicates whether the microphone can be folded away or tucked into the chassis when not in use.

Folding microphone

Indicates whether the product has a dedicated function to silence the microphone.

Microphone mute

Microphone

The minimum and maximum temperatures at which the product can be safely operated.

Operating temperature (T-T)

The minimum and maximum temperatures at which the product can be safely stored.

Storage temperature (T-T)

The permissible range of relative humidity, expressed as a percentage, within which the product can be stored without damage.

Storage relative humidity (H-H)

Operational conditions

The measurement or extent of something from side to side.

Width

The distance from the front to the back of something.

Depth

The measurement of the product from head to foot or from base to top.

Height

Weight of the product without packaging (net weight). If possible, the net weight is given including standard accessories and supplies. Please note that sometimes the manufacturer leaves out the weight of accessories and/or supplies.
