The total power that is needed by the device, or the total power produced by the device.

Total power

The voltage of the AC electricity that is inputted into the product.

AC input voltage

Specifies the method used by the power supply unit to improve the efficiency of power delivery and reduce harmonic distortion, such as Active or Passive PFC.

Power Factor Correction (PFC) type

The total power output available on the +3.3V rail, measured in W.

Combined power (+3.3V)

The total maximum power output available across all +12V rails, measured in W.

Combined power (+12V)

The total maximum power output available on the +5V rail, measured in W.

Combined power (+5V)

The maximum total power that can be delivered on the -12V rail, measured in W.

Combined power (-12V)

The total maximum power output available across the combined +5V and +5Vsb rails, measured in W.

Combined power (+5Vsb)

The maximum electrical current that can be delivered on the +3.3V rail, measured in A.

Max output current (+3.3V)

The maximum electrical current that the device can provide on the +12V rail, measured in A.

Max output current (+12V)

The maximum electrical current that can be delivered on the +5V rail, measured in A.

Max output current (+5V)

The maximum electrical current that can be delivered on the -12V rail, measured in A.

Max output current (-12V)

The maximum electrical current that can be delivered on the +5Vsb standby rail, measured in A.

Max output current (+5Vsb)

Features that protect the device against power problems e.g. overload.

Power protection features

Power

The way in which the motherboard is connected to the power supply.

Motherboard power connector

The total length of the cable used to provide power to the motherboard, measured in mm.

Motherboard power cable length

The total number of available power interfaces designed to provide electricity to SATA-compatible drives or peripherals.

Number of SATA power connectors

The total length of the SATA power cable, measured in mm (e.g., 550).

SATA power cable length

White 4-pinned connector used to connect a peripheral to the power supply.

Peripheral (Molex) power connectors (4-pin)

The total length of the peripheral power cable using a Molex connector, measured in mm (e.g., 450).

Peripheral (Molex) power cable length

The total number of 8-pin power connectors available for providing additional power to high-performance components.

PCI Express power connectors (8-pin)

The number of 16-pin PCI Express power connectors available on the unit to provide power to high-performance components.

PCI Express power connectors (16-pin)

The total length of the PCI Express power cable, measured in mm.

PCI Express power cable length

Indicates whether the product includes or supports a 4+4 pin power connector for the central processing unit.

CPU power connector (4+4 pin)

The total length of the cable used to provide power to the processor, measured in mm.

CPU power cable length

Indicates whether the product features a PCI Express interface.

PCI Express connector

Specifies the design of the internal wiring, indicating whether cables are permanently attached or can be removed (e.g. Fully-Modular).

Cabling type

Ports & interfaces

The energy efficiency rating, indicating the minimum percentage of power converted from the mains to the device (e.g., 80 PLUS Gold).

80 PLUS certification

Purpose

The physical dimensions and shape standard of the power supply, which determines compatibility with the chassis (e.g., ATX or Flex ATX).

Power supply unit (PSU) form factor

ATX (Advanced Technology eXtended) is a motherboard form factor specification developed by Intel in 1995. The specification defines the key mechanical dimensions, mounting point, I/O panel, power and connector interfaces between a computer case, a motherboard and a power supply. There are many versions of ATX including ATX12V 1.x and ATX12V v2.3.

ATX version

Statistical model used to indicate product/mechanism reliability; expressed in hours and percentage of duty cycle. This number (in hours) does not indicate the mean time before failure for a single unit/mechanism.

Mean time between failures (MTBF)

Performance

The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white.

Product colour

The method used to cool the device or to cool the air around the device.

Cooling type

The quantity of fans (apparatus with rotating blades that creates a current of air for cooling or ventilation).

Number of fans

Specifies the physical position of the cooling fan on the unit (e.g. Front, Rear, Side).

Fan location

Illumination

Design

Specifies the types and quantities of connection cables provided with the product (e.g., 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm or SATA).
