The aspect ratio is the ratio of the width of an image to its height. The supported aspect ratios are the aspect ratios that can be shown by the device.

Supported aspect ratios

Indicates whether the device has integrated smart platform capabilities for streaming apps and internet connectivity.

Smart projector

The different screen sizes which the device can work with.

Screen size compatibility

The maximum length at which an image can be projected.

Projection distance

The amount of light emitted, typically measured in ANSI lumens.

Projector brightness

The underlying method used to create the image on the screen, such as 3LCD or DLP.

Projection technology

The actual number of physical pixels that make up the image on the display panel, typically expressed as width by height (e.g. 1920x1080).

Projector native resolution

The difference in light intensity between the brightest white and the darkest black.

Contrast ratio (typical)

The aspect ratio is the ratio of the width of an image to its height. The native aspect ratio is the one which the projector/display is particularly designed for. Images shown in native aspect ratio will utilize the entire resolution of the display and achieve maximum brightness. Images shown in other than native aspect ratio will always have less resolution and less brightness than images shown in native aspect ratio.

Native aspect ratio

The total number of distinct colours that the device can produce and display, often ranging from millions to billions.

Number of colours

The light output of the device when operating in a power-saving mode, measured in ANSI lumens.

Projector brightness (economic mode)

The minimum horizontal frequency the device can synchronize with, measured in kHz.

Horizontal synchronization (min)

The maximum frequency at which the device can synchronize the horizontal scan of the image, measured in kHz.

Horizontal synchronization (max)

The minimum frequency at which the image is redrawn on the screen to prevent visual artifacts, measured in kHz.

Vertical synchronization (min)

The maximum frequency at which the image is redrawn on the screen, measured in kHz.

Vertical synchronization (max)

Projector

The technology used to generate light, such as LED, Laser, or VCSEL.

Light source type

The expected operational duration of the light source before it requires replacement, measured in hours.

Service life of light source

The expected operational duration of the light source before replacement is required when the device is operated in energy-saving mode, measured in hours.

Service life of light source (economic mode)

Lamp type

The amount of electrical power consumed by the lamp, measured in watts.

Lamp power

Light source

Specifies the method used to achieve a sharp image, such as automatic (Auto), manual, or fixed focus.

Focus

Measure of how strongly the system converges or diverges light. For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance. For an optical system in air, the effective focal length (f and f′) gives the distance from the front and rear principal planes (H and H′) to the corresponding focal points (F and F′).

Focal length range

Aperture range of the device's optics, expressed in f-stops.

Aperture range (F-F)

The amount that the camera lens can zoom.

Zoom capability

The mechanism used to adjust the focal length, such as through automatic, manual, or fixed settings.

Zoom type

Measures how much the camera can adjust its focus for distance shots. A 3x zoom ratio changes the camera's focal length by a factor of three, from 35 mm to 105 mm for example.

Zoom ratio

The ratio between the distance from the lens to the projection surface and the width of the projected image.

Throw ratio

Lens system

Full High Definition (HD) means that a display supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel, and has a digital TV connection.

Full HD

The graphic resolutions that can be displayed by the device. The graphic resolution describes the width and height dimensions of a display, such as a computer monitor, measured in pixels.

Supported graphics resolutions

Video

The two sockets (ports) for receiving left audio signal (white cable) and right audio signal (red cable).

Audio (L/R) in

The two sockets (ports) for transmitting left audio signal (white cable) and right audio signal (red cable).

Audio (L/R) out

Number of VGA (D-Sub) ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. The VGA (D-Sub) connector is a 15 pin connector between a computer and a monitor. It was first introduced in 1987 by IBM.

VGA (D-Sub) ports quantity

S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format) is a digital audio interconnect used in consumer audio equipment over relatively short distances. The signal is transmitted over either a coaxial cable with RCA connectors or a fibre optic cable with TOSLINK connectors.

S/PDIF out port

The socket (port) for the composite video input (white cable).

Composite video in

Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video display interface to connect a video source to a display device, such as a computer monitor.

DVI port

Indicates whether the device can be powered directly via an alternating current (AC) power source.

AC (power) in

Ports & interfaces

Smart TV features access to a large number of channels that offer TV programs, movies, and music without the need to connect a TV antenna or subscribe to a cable/satellite service. Some smart TVs provide web browsing, gaming, and access to compatible media content stored on computers.

Smart TV

An Ethernet LAN (Local Area Network) interface is present, for a wired conection via a cable.

Ethernet LAN

Network

A card reader is a device that enables reading and, in some cases, writing data to and from a memory card.

Card reader integrated

Storage

The available orientations for positioning the device to project an image, such as Ceiling, Front, or Rear.

Projection modes

Features

The device contains speaker(s) to produce sound.

Built-in speaker(s)

RMS (Root mean square) is a measure of the continuous power required by a device, in particular audio amplifiers and loudspeakers.

RMS rated power

The total quantity of integrated audio output drivers installed within the unit.

Number of built-in speakers
